Ignition System

Safety precautions

Pay attention to the following precautions in
order to avoid injuries to persons and/or damage
to the fuel injection and ignition system:
♦ Do not touch or disconnect ignition cables
when the engine is running or operating at
starting speed.
♦ Do not disconnect or connect cables of the
fuel injection and ignition system - not even
of test equipment - unless the ignition is
switched off.
♦ To operate the engine at starting speed
without it actually starting, e.g. when testing
compression pressure, unplug the connector
from the Hall sender (distributor).
♦ Do not connect a capacitor to terminal 1 (-).
♦ Do not replace the 1 k distributor rotor arm
(identification: R1) with a different rotor arm;
not even for radio interference suppression.
♦ Use only 1 k resistors and 5 k spark plug
connectors at the high voltage cables for
interference suppression.
