1.4a System Health Monitoring (X11SCZ-Q)
This section describes the health monitoring features of the X11SCZ-Q motherboard. The
motherboard supports system health monitoring through the Super I/O.

Onboard Voltage Monitors

The onboard voltage monitor will continuously scan crucial voltage levels. Real time readings
of these voltage levels are all displayed in BIOS.

Fan Status Monitor with Firmware Control

The system health monitor chip can check the RPM status of a cooling fan. The CPU and
chassis fans are controlled by the BIOS Thermal Management.

Environmental Temperature Control

The thermal control sensor monitors the CPU temperature in real time and will enable the
thermal control fan whenever the CPU temperature exceeds a user-defined threshold. The
overheat circuitry runs independently from the CPU. Once the thermal sensor detects that
the CPU temperature is too high, it will automatically adjust the fan RPM to prevent the CPU
from overheating.
Note: To avoid possible system overheating, please provide adequate airflow to your
system.

System Resource Alert

This feature is available when used with SuperDoctor 5 in the Windows operating system or
in the Linux environment. SuperDoctor 5 is used to notify the user of certain system events.
For example, you can configure SuperDoctor 5 to provide you with warnings when the system
temperature, CPU temperatures, voltages and fan speeds go beyond a predefined range.
