Red-Eye Reduction mode
Reduces the red-eye effect.
Pre-fires the flash four times before firing the flash for
shooting.
About Red-Eye Effect
When taking a portrait in a dark background, the
eyes may be printed in red. The light from the flash
enters eyes and then reflected back to the eyes,
causing this effect. To reduce the red-eye effect, take
a photo in the red-eye reduction flash mode, and, it is
more effective to,
ask the person to be photographed to look at the
camera.
photograph the subject as closely as possible.
Night (Slow synchro.) mode
Used in night scene photography.
The fill-in flash mode at slow shutter speed.
Night Portrait (Slow synchro.) mode
Used when taking a portrait in a night scene.
It is the red-eye reduction flash mode at slow
shutter speed. (fires the flash after pre-firing it
four times.)
In the night mode/night portrait mode, the shutter
speed becomes slow. Use a tripod to avoid camera
shake. And also, keep the subject steady while
photographing.
