1-4-3 Electric problems

If the part causing the problem was not supplied, use the unit including the part for replacement.
Troubleshooting to each failure must be in the order of the numbered symptoms.
Problem
(1)
The paper feeder
does not operate
when the main
power switch is
turned on.
(2)
PF paper feed
motor does not
operate.
(3)
PF lift motor 1,2
does not operate.
(4)
PF paper feed
clutch 1, 2 does
not operate.
(5)
PF paper convey-
ing clutch 1,2 and
3 does not operate.
Causes
1. Defective connector
cable or poor con-
tact in the connector.

2. Defective drive trans-
mission system.
3. Defective motor.
4. Defective PWB.

Check procedures/corrective measures
Reinsert the connector. Also check for continuity within the
connector cable. If none, replace the cable.
PF main PWB (YC13) and engine PWB
Reinsert the connector. Also check for continuity within the
connector cable. If none, replace the cable.
PF paper feed motor and PF main PWB (YC16)
Check if the rollers and gears rotate smoothly. If not,
grease the bushes and gears. Check for broken gears and
replace if any.
Replace the PF paper feed motor.
Replace the PF main PWB and check for correct operation
(see page 1-5-9).
Reinsert the connector. Also check for continuity within the
connector cable. If none, replace the cable.
PF lift motor 1,2 and PF main PWB (YC7)
Check if the rollers and gears rotate smoothly. If not,
grease the bushes and gears. Check for broken gears and
replace if any.
Replace the PF lift motor 1 or 2.
Replace the PF main PWB and check for correct operation
(see page 1-5-9).
Reinsert the connector. Also check for continuity within the
connector cable. If none, replace the cable.
PF paper feed clutch 1, 2 and PF main PWB (YC15)
Replace the PF paper feed clutch 1 or 2.
Replace the PF main PWB and check for correct operation
(see page 1-5-9).
Reinsert the connector. Also check for continuity within the
connector cable. If none, replace the cable.
PF paper conveying clutch 1 and PF main PWB (YC5)
PF paper conveying clutch 2,3 and PF main PWB (YC15)
Replace the PF paper conveying clutch 1, 2 or 3.
Replace the PF main PWB and check for correct operation
(see page 1-5-9).
