Note: The GPS signal cannot pass through solid non-transparent objects. Signal reception
may be affected by obstructions such as high-rise buildings, tunnels, bridges, forests,
weather (rainy or cloudy days), etc. Wireless communication products (such as mobile
phones or detecting devices) may interfere with the satellite signal, resulting unstable
signal reception.
Manage GPS automatically
To allow multiple programs to access GPS data simultaneously, your Windows
Mobile-based device automatically manages access to your GPS receiver. It is highly
recommended that this option always be selected. Otherwise, only one program at a
time can access your GPS receiver.
1. Tap
>Settings>System tab>External GPS.
2. On the Access tab, select the Manage GPS automatically check box.
Note: Some programs may need direct access to the GPS receiver. For these
programs, the option should not be selected.
Select a GPS program port
Programs that use GPS need to know which port to use to access GPS data. If no program
port is specified, many GPS-enabled programs will not be able to access GPS data.
1. Tap
>Settings>System tab>External GPS.
2. On the Programs tab, in the GPS programs port list, select the port from which
programs will access GPS data.
The programs port must be different from the one specified as the hardware port.
Note: Make sure that your GPS programs also have this port selection in their
configuration settings. See the user manual for your GPS Program for more information.
