Storing Your Honda
If
you won't be riding for an extended period. such as during
the winter, thoroughly inspect your motorcycle and correct any
problem before storing
it.
That way, needed repairs won't be
forgotten and it will be easier to get your motorcycle running
agam.
We suggest you perfonn the following procedures to keep your
motorcycle in top condition. These storage procedures will
reduce the deterioration that can occur during storage.
Preparation for Storage
I. Change the engine oil and filter (page 108).
2. Make sure the cooling system is filled
with
a 50/50%
antifreeze solution (page 114).
3. Fill the fuel tank. Make sure the fuel fill cap is properly
installed.
4. Drain the carburetors imo an approved gasoline container.
If storage will last longer than one month, carburetor
draining is important, to assure proper performance after
storage.
AWARNING
Gasoline is highly flammable and
explosive. You can be burned or
seriously injured when handling fuel.
• Stop the engine and keep heat,
sparks and flame away.
• Handle fuel only outdoors.
• Wipe up spills immediately.
