External heat pump type AWH-O
Heating water connection (hydraulic
connection lines P)
Use the hydraulic connection set (acces-
sory), pre-assembled in different
lengths. The connection set comprises
one flexible flow and one flexible return
line, PE 32 x 2.9, encased in common
thermal insulation, plus two adaptors
DN 32 to R 1" (male).
■ Route the pipes into the building via a
suitable pipe liner with wall seal
flanges V (accessories).
■ Provide a fill & drain facility O for
heating water flow and return in the
building, that is near the external wall
and 0.8 m below ground level.
Note
In buildings at ground level, provide a
suitable insulated duct or enable drain-
age with compressed air.
The frost protection function of the heat
pump control unit is enabled provided
the heat pump control unit and heating
circuit pump are ready for operation. If
the heat pump is taken out of operation
or there is a prolonged power cut, drain
the system via the fill & drain valve O.
In heat pump systems where a power
failure would not be detected (holiday
home), the heating circuits can be oper-
ated with suitable antifreeze.
Power cable to control panel R
Outside the building, run the power cable
to control panel R as an earth cable
(NYY), or route a NYM cable inside a KG
conduit (for sizing see technical guide).
Preparing for installation
(cont.)
Observe the regulations imposed by
your local power supply utility.
Ensure on-site wall duct U is moisture
and water-proof.
Cable length required in the heat pump
from top edge of foundation: min. 2.5 m
Connecting cables D
Route prepared electrical cables (control
cable 230 V~ and LV cable < 42 V) D
inside a KG conduit DN 100. Protect the
plugs at the end of the cables from dirt
and damage (e.g. with bubble wrap).
Routing KG conduits
■ Provide a wire pull for connecting
cables D
■ To facilitate the routing of cables D
through the KG conduit, avoid 90°
bends; instead use 3 x 30° or 2 x 45°
■ Route KG conduit with a slope towards
the heat pump and fit a condensate
drain (if required).
■ Ensure on-site wall duct U is mois-
ture and water-proof.
■ Seal the apertures of the KG conduit
so that animals cannot enter the build-
ing.
