5.3 Fitting

Put the Adflo belt on and adjust the size, so that the Adflo unit sits easily and is accessible and
comfortable on your hips.
The welding head top must be adjusted to the user's head and face shape to give the correct
protection factor.
The headband in the welding head top can be adjusted for height and width, to make the head
top comfortable and stable on the head.
The face seal, which must always be used, can be adjusted to suit the shape of the user's face.
There are three adjustment positions on each side, figure 4.
Adjust the face seal to get it to rest against your face, with a comfortable pressure on your
temples.
If the face seal does not make contact with your face, you will not get sufficient sealing nee-
ded to offer the correct protection factor.

5.4 Operation / Function

1. Start the Adflo unit by pressing the ON button. One green light illuminates (nominal
airflow).
2. Pressing the ON button again makes a second green light illuminate (airflow plus).
3. Pressing the ON button a third time makes the Adflo unit go back to the first nominal
airflow and only one green light is illuminated.
4. To switch the Adflo unit off, press the OFF button for at least 1 second.
NOTE! If the red light illuminates together with an audible warning, this indicates that the air-
flow is too low. This takes place at manufacturer's minimum design flow rate.
If the low flow alarm is active more than 2 minutes, the unit will shut off.
NOTE! When a brief audible warning is given and the battery indicator flashes, the battery
needs to be charged. If the audible warning changes to continuous short tones, the battery is
totally flat and the unit will shut off within 20 seconds.

6. MAINTENANCE / CLEANING

Inspect the equipment daily, and always check it if any signs of malfunction occur.
6.1 Maintenance
The breathing tube must be checked regularly and must be changed if it is damaged and cau-
ses leakage. Faulty connections must be rectified.
The particle filter must be changed if the battery operating time becomes too short or is blocked
and does not give enough airflow.
The particle filter cannot be cleaned. Do not attempt to remove contamination using a com-
pressed air line as this will automatically invalidate the warranty.
The battery must be charged, as noted in the instructions, when the low battery alarm sounds.
The face seal must be changed if it is damaged, dirty or uncomfortable.
WARNING!
Do not use damaged filters. In that case the equipment does not give the breathing protection
which it is meant for. There is also a extended risk for fire if hot particles penetrates into
the filter.

6.2 Cleaning and disinfection

The welding head top can be cleaned with a moist rag, or rinsed with water if the auto-darke-
ning welding filter has been removed.
The face seal and air deflector can be removed if desired, see figures 13 & 9.
The auto-darkening welding filter can be wiped clean with a clean lint-free tissue or cloth.
