Local User Database
Use the Local User Database page to define users, passwords and access
levels.
The default username is admin. There is no default password.
To add a new user:
1 Click Switch Management > Management Security > Local User
Database.
All users are displayed even if they have been suspended. The
following fields are displayed:
Expiry Date — The expiration date of the user-defined password.
Lockout Status — Specifies whether the user currently has access
(status
failed authentication attempts since the user last logged in
successfully (status
Reactivate Suspended User — Check to reactivate the specified
user's access rights. Access rights can be suspended after
unsuccessfully attempting to login.
If a user has been suspended, it can be restored here by selecting the
Reactivate Suspended User field.
2 To add a user, click Edit and then Add, and enter the fields:
User Name (1-20 characters) — Enter the username of the user.
Access Level — Select a user access level. The lowest user access level
is 1 Read-Only and 15 Read-Write is the highest user access level.
Users with access level 15 are Privileged Users, and only they can
access and use the switch administrator.
Password (8-64 characters) — Enter the password of the user.
Confirm Password — Confirm the password of the user.
Access Profiles and Rules Configuration
Access to management functions can be limited to users identified by:
Ingress interface (Port, LAG, or VLAN)
Source IP address
