WATER SOFTENING & REGENERATION
Stored Regeneration Water
The ICD661 has a water softener in the base of the machine.
This unit softens the water as it enters the machine, salt can be added and refilled by removing the
Salt Cap Lid in the bottom of the tank. The 'Low Salt' lamp on the console, will advise when the salt
requires to be re filled.
Regeneration. For the water softener to function correctly, the machine regenerates during every cycle
(A salt solution is passed through the resin), this happens during the drying stage of every cycle.
The regeneration process is as follows.: -
1. The regeneration solenoid valve opens.
2. Water in the Air Break (this has built up during previous filling phases), enters the salt container
pushing the water which is already saturated with salt into the resin container.
3. The salty water stays in the resin container for a few minutes.
4. A short period of filling and draining follows to flush away any residue.
5. There is another period of filling and draining.
6. Regeneration finished.
DRYING
Drying is done by evaporation. During the final hot rinse, the dishes are subjected to high temperature
and an injection of rinse aid.
Drying then takes place in two stages: -
1. With water in the tank;
2. With the tank empty (water drained out).
Note: - Opening the door before the end of the cycle will adversely affect drying performance.
