2.5.2.1 Camera Connection

The mobile DVRs are compatible with 1080p, 720p and D1 cameras (HD-TVI / HD-CVI / HD-SDI
cameras are not supported). There are some instructions/rules to follow when connecting the
cameras to the mobile DVRs. Please read the content below for more details.
1. The mobile DVR can automatically configure itself as NTSC or PAL. To do this, connect a
camera to any channel of the mobile DVR. The mobile DVR will detect the first connected
camera format (NTSC or PAL) and then automatically configure itself to the detected
format from the first connected camera. For example, if the format of the first connected
camera is NTSC, the mobile DVR will configure itself to NTSC format.
2. For 1080p camera connection, up to 12 (EMV1200 HD) / 8 (EMV800 HD) 1080p cameras
can be connected. If all channels are connected with 1080p cameras, the mobile DVR will
display 12 (EMV1200 HD) / 8 (EMV800 HD) channels of 1080p live streams. However, the
recording resolution of each channel will be lower down to 1080pH (960x1080). Please
refer to 2.5.2.2 Recording Resolution Table for more details.
3. If all channels of the mobile DVR are connected with 720p/D1 cameras, the mobile DVR
will display and record 12 (EMV1200 HD) / 8 (EMV800 HD) channels of 720p/D1 live
streams and recordings.
4. All video inputs are compatible with all resolution types of cameras, such as 1080p, 720p
and D1 cameras (HD-TVI / HD-CVI / HD-SDI cameras are not supported). However, the
same types of cameras should be connected to the same pair of video inputs. Otherwise,
only the camera live view with the higher resolution will be displayed (see Point 5 for
more details).
5. If you want to connect different types of camera (1080p, 720p or D1) to the mobile DVR,
ensure the same type of cameras should be connected to the same pair of video inputs.
For instance, pair A for 1080p cameras, pair B for 720p cameras, pair C for D1 cameras.
The pairs of video inputs are set as: channel 1 and 2 as a pair; channel 3 and 4 as a pair;
channel 5 and 6 as a pair; and so on. Otherwise, only the camera live view with the higher
resolution will be displayed (Please read the Example A ~ D for more details).
 If you connect the same type of cameras to the same pair of video inputs, the camera
live views will be displayed on the monitor as illustrated below.
Note: If you connect two 1080p cameras to a pair of video inputs (say CH1 and CH2),
both of the maximum live resolution will be displayed as 1080p; however, the
maximum recording resolutions will get lower down to 1080pH (960x1080).
