Setting optional devices for the printer
Configuration data for optional devices is automatically obtained when the printer driver is installed. If two-way
communication between this equipment and your computer is not available, you need to manually configure the
optional device in the printer driver.

To open the [Device Settings] tab, you must access the printer driver properties from the [Devices and Printers] folder
(Windows Vista/Windows Server 2008: [Printers] folder).
Updating optional devices automatically
When SNMP communication between this equipment and your computer is enabled, you can retrieve configuration
information by clicking [Update Now] on the [Device Settings] tab. Select [Update Automatically] to update the
configuration information automatically when you open the [Device Settings] tab.
Setting optional devices manually
If SNMP communication between this equipment and your computer is not available:
You need to log in to Windows as an Administrator.
Right-click [Start], then click [Control Panel] > [View devices and printers].

The Printers folder appears.
For Windows 8.1/Windows Server 2012, right-click in the lower left of the screen, then click [Control Panel] >
[View devices and printers].
For Windows 7, click [Start] > [Devices and Printers].
For Windows Vista/Windows Server 2008, click [Start] > [Control Panel] > [Hardware and Sound] > [Printers].
