Front manual feed (loading thick paper)
You can load thick paper with the following speci-
fications from the front feeder. However, you can-
not feed from the front feeder when the optional
SpectroProofer is installed.

Rear manual feed
You can load cut sheets with the following specifi-
cations manually one by one. Use this feeding meth-
od to print one sheet of a media type or paper size
that is different from the ones loaded in the paper
cassette, or when measuring colors on color charts
that have already been printed with the Epson Col-
or Calibration Utility.

Basic Operations
Space at the rear
When loading thick paper or printing from the paper
cassette with the optional SpectroProofer installed,
paper is ejected once from the rear of the printer
before printing. Therefore, make sure the following
space is secured. If the printer is set up near a wall,
make sure there is enough space at the rear.

Important:
❏ Do not remove or insert the paper cassette
while printing. It may cause print quality to
decline or cause a paper jam.
If you remove the paper cassette while
printing, wait until printing is complete to
reinsert it.
❏ When loading paper in the paper cassette,
always remove the paper cassette from the
printer and follow the steps below. If paper is
loaded while the paper cassette is still in the
printer, it could cause print quality to decline
or cause a paper jam.
Note:
Some paper types cannot be printed from the paper
cassette.U
Use the front manual feed or rear manual feed method
for these papers.
