AMG Cooling System

Cooling is carried out by a cooling module located
behind the radiator grille. The cooling module contains
the THERMOTRONIC condenser, the power steering
fluid cooler, the low-temperature radiator for indirect
transmission oil cooling and the main radiator.
A radiator fan integrated in the cooling module with an
output of 850 W dissipates the hot air as required.
Thanks to a completely new design, it was possible to
reduce the weight of the cooling module (filled) by
approx. 4 kg. A number of seals between the individual
components were replaced by a labyrinth seal.

Engine oil cooling is carried out by two air/oil coolers
housed in the wheel arches. The air/oil cooler housed
in the left wheel arch is also equipped with a blower
fan, which supports the engine oil cooling system
when the engine is idling or at low speeds.
A special feature of the vehicle is its indirect transmis-
sion oil cooling. The water/oil heat exchangers at the
rear end are supplied by an independent low-temper-
ature circuit with its own pump.

7 Water-oil heat exchanger for hydraulic circuit
(clutch and actuators)
