The Dial # feature controls the dial properties of the modem. Select Dial on the main menu:

Status
Mute Mic.
Auto Redial
Microphone Volume
Speaker Volume
Dial
Hangup

Indicates if modem is connected to the specified
number.
Turns microphone off.
Automatically redials specified number.
Slide bar controls volume of microphone.
Slide bar controls volume of speaker.
Dials the number specified.
