5. Remove the four screws that secure the system board shield to the computer. Then, lift the system
board shield up to remove it from the computer.

6. Align the screw holes in the new system board shield with the screw holes in the chassis. Then, install
the four screws to secure the system board shield to the chassis.

Replacing the M.2 Wi-Fi card

Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter
1 "Read this first: Important safety information" on page 1.
Notes:
• To replace the M.2 Wi-Fi card, refer to your M.2 Wi-Fi card illustrations.
• The location of the Wi-Fi antenna connectors might vary depending on your M.2 Wi-Fi card.
To replace the M.2 Wi-Fi card, do the following:
1. Remove any media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and the computer. Then,
disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the
computer.
2. Remove the computer stand. See "Replacing the computer stand" on page 89.
3. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the computer cover" on page 94.
4. Remove the system board shield. See "Replacing the system board shield" on page 96.
5. Locate the M.2 Wi-Fi card. See "Computer components" on page 29.
6. If your computer comes with an M.2 Wi-Fi card that supports the Bluetooth function, disconnect the
Bluetooth cable from the Wi-Fi card adapter.
Note: The Bluetooth cable connects the Bluetooth connector on the M.2 Wi-Fi card adapter to the
system board.
