To send a fax manually

Load the document into the Automatic Document Feeder.

If necessary, change the "Resolution" setting (p. 3-13).

Pick up the telephone receiver.

Check that the dial tone can be
heard.

Specify the fax number of the recipient.

Use the telephone to dial the fax number.

The fax number of the recipient can also specified using the keys
in the control panel of this machine (p. 3-1).

After finishing talking on the phone, the recipient should press the
necessary key to start receiving the fax.
Once the recipient's fax machine is ready, a beep is sounded.

Press the [Start] key to begin
scanning and sending the fax.

Replace the telephone receiver.

To stop the transmission, press the [Stop] key, and then press the
[Yes] key in the next screen that appears.
Tip
If the [Speaker] key is pressed instead of picking up the telephone
receiver, the speaker can be used for manual transmission in the
same way as described above.

Batch Transmission

Multiple documents can be stored in the memory and faxed together at a
specified time. In order to use this function, the corresponding Utility mode
function must first be used to program a one-touch dial key with the batch
transmission settings (transmission time) (p. 6-27).
