Network Connectivity

NetWare

NetWare is a network operating system developed by Novell to run various services using cooperative
multitasking.
Before you begin:
Ensure an existing operational NetWare network is available.
Verify that you have administrator rights to log in to a NetWare file server or tree.
Ensure that the printer is connected to the network.
Set up a print server object using the appropriate Novell utility. Refer to the Novell system
documentation for help.

Configuring NetWare General Settings

In CentreWare Internet Services, click Properties>Connectivity>Setup.

Under Protocol, next to Netware, click Edit.
In the General pane, under Protocol, select Enabled.

Under Frame Type, select an option.

Under Queue Poll Interval, type a rate from 1 through 240 seconds.

Under Printer Server Name, type a name.

Under New Print Server Password, type a server password. Retype the password to confirm.
Enable Select to save new password.

Click Save.

Enabling SAP

Service Advertising Protocol (SAP) sends periodic broadcast messages to other network components
about available services on the printer. SAP facilitates dynamic adding and removing of services on an
IPX internetwork. As servers start up and shut down, they can advertise and remove their services using
SAP.
In CentreWare Internet Services, click Properties>Connectivity>Setup.

Under Protocol, next to Netware, click Edit.

In the SAP pane, under Protocol, select Enabled.

Under SAP Frequency, type a value from 15 through 300 seconds.

Click Save.
