5.0 Installation and Use
9. Attach Top Tether to a designated anchor
point. Pull Top Tether strap until webbing
strap is snug.
NOTE: Your vehicle owner's manual will give
the anchor locations and maximum weight of
the restraint's occupant for LATCH connections.
10. Check for movement of the restraint at the
safety belt path. The restraint should not
move more than 1 inch in any direction. If
the restraint moves more than 1 inch repeat
all steps until all safety steps are met.
5.7 LATCH - Forward Facing Installation with Lower Anchor and
Top Tether
NOTE: Use the vehicle's lap/shoulder belt (not
LATCH) for children weighing more than
45 lbs (20.5 kg).
Requirements. See Section 2.3:
Weight is 23 - 45 lbs (10.43 - 20.4 kg)
Height is 50 inches (127 cm) or less.
Age is 1 year old.

5.0 Installation and Use
1. Place this restraint in a rear seating position
designated as lower anchor compatible (Fig.
34a). Refer to your vehicle owner's manual for
LATCH locations.
2. Ensure vehicle is level and that the Convertible
is placed flat, and rests on the front outer edge
of the vehicle seat. Make sure the harness is
adjusted to position 3 or 4. Only use recline
positions 5 and 4 in forward facing positions.
3. Lift back flap and place harness to side
(Fig. 34b).
4. Unlock and lower Forward Facing Lock-off
(Fig. 34c).
5. Route LATCH belt through the front facing
safety belt path (Fig. 34d) leaving the
adjuster side of the LATCH belt on the
child's RIGHT side (Fig. 35a).
NOTE: Remove any twist in webbing to
ensure the webbing lies flat for securing
the restraint to the vehicle.
