Digital Add-on Module Installation

Install one or two DADM 2020s to a 2000-series digital telephone (only).
o
DK14 supports up to 8 DADMs
o
DK40i supports up to 12 DADMs
The number of DADMs supported by the DK424 depends on the common control PCB:
o
RCTUA supports 12 DADMs
o
RCTUB and B1CAU supports 40 DADMs
o
RCTUC/D B2CAU/BU, B3CAU/BU supports 120 DADMs
o
RCTUE/F and B5CAU/BU support 200
DADMs
The DADM provides DSS buttons, speed dial
buttons and CO line buttons.

DADMs cannot be installed on telephones that
o
have RPCI-DI on OCA/DVSU installed.
➤ To install DADMs
See
Figure 11-27
and follow these steps:
1. Loosen the four captive screws on the 2000-
series digital telephone base and remove the
base.
2. Remove the base handset hanger.
3. Loosen two captive screws on DADM and remove bases.
4. Put the DADM supplied cable through the telephone and DADM bases.
5. Connect DADM cable connectors to P1 of DADM and P1 of DKT2000 telephone.
6. Install base of DADM and telephone– tuck DADM cable into DADM and telephone base, as
necessary, for proper length.
7. Secure DADM to telephone base with DADM connecting plate (using four screws).
8. If required to achieve maximum distance, install 2-pair house cable (or external power) and 2-
pair modular cord, supplied with DADM. (See

DADM with the DADM connecting cable.
