Accessing the DN-V755 on a Home Network or Stand-Alone
Computer
The following sections describe how to access the unit on a home network or a computer that
is not part of a network.
Once you access the unit, you can open the user application and set the date and time,
change the unit's name, and create and play playlists.

Windows XP

1. In Windows Explorer, double-click the My Network Places icon.
2. Double-click the View workgroup computers icon.
The MediaPlayer1234 unit appears in the View workgroup computers folder.
Alternatively:
1. Double-click the My Network Places icon.
2. Double-click Entire Network > Microsoft Windows Network > Workgroup.
The MediaPlayer1234 unit appears in the Workgroup folder.
If you do not see the unit or you do not see the Workgroup icon, do the following:
1. Make sure your computer is configured for Home Networking:
a. Click Start, and then select Control Panel.
b. Double-click the System icon.
c. Select the Computer Name tab, and then click Network ID to open the Network
Configuration Wizard.
d. Click Next, and then select This computer is for home use.
e. Click Next > Finish, and then click OK to dismiss the restart message.
2. In the System Properties dialog, click Apply, and then do one of the following:
•
If the Workgroup name is WORKGROUP, click OK, and then restart your computer.
•
If the Workgroup name is not WORKGROUP:
a. Click Change.
b. Make sure Workgroup is selected, and then change the name in the text box to
WORKGROUP and click OK.
c. Click OK to close the System Properties dialog, and then restart the computer.

Windows 2000

1. In Windows Explorer, double-click the My Network Places icon.
2. Double-click the Computers near me icon.
The MediaPlayer1234 appears in the Computers near me folder.
