POTENTIAL HAZARD
Stalling, rolling backwards or improperly dismounting while climbing a hill.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
Could result in ATV overturning.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
Use proper gear and maintain steady speed when climbing a hill.
If you lose all forward speed:
Keep weight uphill.
Apply the brakes.
Lock parking device and set transmission to park after you are stopped.
If you begin rolling backwards:
Keep weight uphill.
Never apply the rear brake while rolling backwards.
Apply the front brake gradually.
When fully stopped, apply rear brake as well, lock parking device and set
transmission to park.
Dismount on uphill side, or to a side if pointed straight uphill.
Turn the ATV around and remount, following the procedure described in
the Operator's Guide and the Safety Handbook .

Improperly operating over obstacles.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
Could cause loss of control or a collision. Could cause the ATV to overturn.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
Before operating in a new area, check for obstacles.
Never attempt to ride over large obstacles, such as large rocks or fallen trees.
When you go over obstacles, always follow proper procedures as de-
scribed in the Operator's Guide and the Safety Handbook .
