PREPARATION
1. Remove:
• Grease nipples 1
• Clamp 2 (F30A, F40B)
• Clamp 3 (F30B, F40F)
INSTALLATION
1. Install:
• Steering friction assembly 1
• Clamp 2 (F30A, F40B)
• Bolts (M6) 3
• Spring washers 4
• Clamp 5 (F30B, F40F)
NOTE:
Do not apply lubricants such as grease to the
friction areas of the steering friction adjuster.
Bolt:
8.0 N • m (0.82 kgf • m, 5.9 ft • lb)
2. Check:
• Friction force
Move the friction lever 1 in direction a
or b.
Incorrect → Retighten the nut 2.

Nut:
4.0 N • m (0.41 kgf • m, 3.0 ft • lb)
3. Check:
• Steering movement
Unsmooth → Repair.
NOTE:
• With the friction lever moved fully to the right,
check the tiller handle for smooth operation.
• When moving the tiller handle, check that
there is no interference with the fuel hose,
battery lead, and speedometer hose.
