iMPORTANT:This unitis shippedwith theengine fullof oil. After
assembly,see page 10for fuel and oil details.
Removing
From Carton
1. Cut the cornersof thecarton and lay the sidesflat on the ground.
Removeall packinginserts.
2_ Movethe snowthrowerout of thecarton.
3. Makecertainthe carton has beencompletelyemptiedbefore
discardingit.
DO NOT lift the snowthrower bythe chute handle.
Before Assembly
NOTE: Reference to right,left, front or rearof the unit is from the
operatingpositionunlessotherwisestated.
Setting
Up The Handme
NOTE: Be awareof the three looselyfitted cableties attachedto the
lowerhandlethat will be utilizedlaterto securethe cables.
1. Loosenand removethe wing knob,saddlewasher,handletab and
carriagescrew on eachside of the lower handle.See Fig.1.
2. Slideone of the looselyfitted cable tiesfrom the right side of the lower
handle up to the cross memberof the lower handle.Leavethe second
cable tie in place on the rightside of the lower handle.See Fig.3 for
reference.
IMPORTANT:
Itwillbenecessary t o lifttheupperhandle whileslidingup
thiscabletieto prevent damage tothecable.
3. Lift the upper handleup and positionit overthelowerhandle,align-
ing the holeswherethewing knobswereremoved(1).See Fig. 2.
Be carefulnot to bendor kink the cables.
4_ Inserta carriagescrewfromthe outsidethrougha handletab, the
upperand lowerhandles,a saddlewasherand intothe wing knob
(2)_Repeaton the otherside.
5_ Tightenthewing knobson each sideof the handle.Referto Fig. 2_
NOTE:The augercable routesdownthe left lowerhandleand the
drivecableis routedacrossthe top of the lowerhandleand downthe
rightside of the lowerhandle.See Fig. 3_
.
Threecableties havebeen usedto looselytie the controlcables
to the lowerhandle,includingthe cabletie you relocatedin step 2_
Positioncable ties now,as in Fig. 3, and tightento securecablesto
the lowerhandle.Trimoff excessmaterialof cableties.
