FueURecommedations
Use automotive gasoline(unleadedor low leadedto minimizecombus-
tionchamberdeposits)with a minimumof 87 octane.Gasolinewith
up to 10%ethanolor 15%MTBE(MethylTertiaryButyl Ether)canbe
used. Neverusean oil/gasolinemixtureor dirty gasoline.Avoidgetting
dirt, dust,or waterin thefuel tank. DO NOTuse E85gasoline.

Refuelin a welFventilated areawith the engine stopped.Donot
smokeor allowflamesor sparksin the area wheretheengine is
refueledor wheregasolineis stored.

Do notoverfillthe fuel tank.After refueling,makesurethe tank
cap is closedproperlyand securely.

Be carefulnot to spillfuel when refueling.Spilledfuelor fuelvapor
may ignite.If any fuel is spilled,makesurethe area is dry before
startingtheengine.

Avoidrepeatedor prolongedcontactwith skin or breathingof
vapor.

FueU
Useextremecarewhenhandlinggasoline.Gasolineis extremely
flammableand the vaporsare explosive. Neverfuel the machine
indoorsor while the engineis hotor running.Extinguishcigarettes,
cigars,pipesand other sourcesof ignition.
Alwayskeephandsand feetclear of equipmentmovingparts.Do not
usea pressurizedstartingfluid.Vaporsare flammable.

Cleanaroundfuel fill beforeremovingcap to fuel.

A fuel levelindicatoris located inthe fuel tank. Filltank until fuel
reachesthe fuel level indictor,Fig.6. Be careful not to overfill.
Checking
OiU LeveU
The engineis shippedwith oil in theengine.Youmust, however,
checkthe oil levelpriorto operatingthe snowthrower.Runningthe
enginewith insufficientoil cancause seriousengine damageand
void theenginewarranty.
NOTE: Besuretochecktheengine on a level s urface withtheengine
stopped.

Remove t heoil fillercap/dipstick a ndwipethedipstick clean. S eeFig.

Insertthe cap/dipstickinto the oil filler neck, but do not screwit in.

Removethe oil filler cap/dipstick. Ifthe levelis low,slowlyadd oil until
oil levelregistersbetweenhigh (H) andlow (L), Fig.7. Referto the
EngineMaintenancesectionfor correctoil viscosityandengine oil
capacity.
NOTE:Do not overfill.Overfillingwith oil may resultin enginesmoking,
hardstartingor sparkplug fouling.

Replaceandtighten cap/dipstickfirmly beforestartingengine.
