Removing
From Carton
1. Cut thecornersof the cartonand lay the sidesflat on the ground.
Removeall packinginserts.
2. The upperhandleis packagedunattachedto the snowthrower,
thoughconnectedby cables.Movethe snowthrowerand upper
handleout of the carton.
3. Makecertainthe carton has beencompletelyemptiedbefore
discardingit.

itagainst the engineto prevent unintendedstarting.
NOTE: Referenceto right, left,front or rearof the unitis from the
operatingpositionunlessotherwisestated.

Setting
Up The Handle
1. If applicable,removecabletie securingupper handleto lower
handlefor shippingpurposes.Removeall protectiveplasticwrap-
ping from handlesas shownin Figure1.
NOTE: Be carefulNOTto removethe threelooselyfittedcable ties
that will be utilizedlaterto securecables.
2. Loosenand removethe star knob,handletab, and carriagescrew
on each sideof the lowerhandle.See Figure2.
3. Slide one of the looselyfittedcableties from the rightside of the
lowerhandleup to the cross memberof the lowerhandle.Leave
the secondcabletie in placeon the rightside of the lowerhandle.
IMPORTANT:It will be necessaryto lift the upper handlewhilesliding
up this cabletie to preventdamagetothe cable.
4. Lift the upperhandleup and positionit overthe lowerhandle,
aligningthe holeswherethe star knobs wereremoved(1).
CAUTION:Be careful not to bend or kink the cables,
5. Inserta carriagescrewfromthe outsidethrougha handletab, the
upperand lowerhandles,and intothe star knob(2). Repeaton the
otherside.
6. Tightenthestar knobson eachsideof the handle.Referto Figure3.
NOTE:The augercableand speedcontrolcable routedown the left
lowerhandlefromthe speedcontrolbox. The drivecableis routed
acrossthetop of the lowerhandleand downthe rightside of the lower
handle.See Figure4.
7. Threecableties havebeen usedto looselytie the controlcables
to the lowerhandle,includingthe cabletie you relocatedin step 3.
Positioncableties now,as in Figure4,and tightento securecables
to the lowerhandle.Trimoff excessmaterialof cableties.
Skid Shoe
Thespacebetween theshaveplateand theground canbe adjusted. R efer
to Figure6 on page8 forlocation ofshaveplateand skidshoes.Forclose
snowremoval, placeskidshoesin lowposition. W henareatobe clearedis
uneven, p laceskid shoesin themiddleor highposition. S eeFigure5.
