To add an expansion card:

Turn off the computer and disconnect the power cord, modem cable (if
installed), and all external peripheral devices.

Remove the cover. (See "Removing the cover" on page 17 and "Static
electricity precautions" on page 15.)

Set any jumpers and switches on the new card, if required (refer to the
card documentation for jumper settings).

If you are replacing a card, locate the card you want to remove and
disconnect any cables that may connect it to other parts of the computer,
then remove the screw that secures the card in the slot and pull the card
out of the slot.

If you are adding a card, locate an available slot and remove the slot cover
by removing the screw that secures the cover over the slot and pulling
the slot cover out in the same way you would remove an existing card.

Insert the bottom edge of the new expansion card (the keyed edge with
the contacts) into the slot on the system board and push in firmly to
seat the card.
