Power On Tone
The Power On Tone sounds when turning the
transceiver ON.
Control Tone
The Control Tone sounds when pressing keys or
executing operations.
Warning Tone
The Warning Tone sounds when alerting the user:
Time-out timer, TOT Pre-Alert, Transmission
warning (no TX frequency data, Busy Channel
Lockout, Stun).

3.2.9 Volume Lock

This function allows you to select whether or not to
lock the [VOL UP] and [VOL DOWN] keys when the
Key Lock is activated.

3.2.10 Off Hook Decode

The Off Hook Decode function allows the radio to
decode radio traffic with the microphone in the off
hook position. Although the transceiver always
decodes received signals when this function is
activated, it does not decode when the microphone is
in the Off Hook position and this function is not
activated.
The transceiver decodes when the microphone is in
the On Hook position.
Microphone Hook
There is a metal hook on the back of the
microphone (KMC-30/KMC-32). The transceiver
recognizes that the microphone is in the On Hook
position when the metal hook is grounded.
Normally, the negative terminal of the vehicle's
battery is grounded to the metal of the vehicle so
that the hook of the microphone enters the On
Hook position when it touches a metal portion of
the vehicle.

3.2.11 Data TX with QT/DQT

This function allows you to add a QT tone or DQT
code when transmitting by using the PTT function.
The transceiver encodes the QT/DQT code
programmed to the Channel when using this function.
The transceiver does not encode the QT/DQT
programmed to the Channel when transmitting
without using this function.
Without using this function, the receiving party
receives data without unmuting when its Signalling
Decode is programmed as QT/DQT.
Function Port – PTT (Input)
The Function Port remains High when the PTT
function is programmed to the port. Transmission
begins when the port becomes Low and ends
when the port becomes High again.

3.2.12 Data Channel

This function allows the transceiver to move to a
programmed Data Channel when the Function Port to
which the Data channel is assigned switches from
High to Low.
Function Port (Input) – Data CH
The Function Port remains High when the Data
Channel is assigned to the port. The transceiver
moves to the Data Channel when the port
becomes Low and it moves back to the previous
Channel when the port becomes High again.
