6 DTMF
6.1

Overview

DTMF (Dual Tone Multiple Frequency) is the
signalling used for making individual calls or
controlling the transceiver.
You can program this setting in "Edit > DTMF" in the
FPU.
6.2
Encode Function

6.2.1 DTMF Speed

This function allows you to select the automatic
transmission speed of the DTMF.
Option
Digit Time
(Transmission time)
6 Digits/s
83.3 ms
8 Digits/s
62.5 ms
10 Digits/s
50.0 ms
15 Digits/s
33.3 ms
Note: Check the receiving party's DTMF Decode capability
before selecting "15 digits/second".

6.2.2 First Digit Time

This function allows you to set the extension time of
the first digit.
The transceiver automatically transmits DTMF using
"PTT ID", "Auto Dial", "Store&Send" and "Redial".
"Extension time" is the length of time that is extended
from the original length of the DTMF speed.
The transceiver automatically transmits the first digit
of DTMF using the programmed extension time.
This function ensures the recognition of the first
DTMF digit even if the receiving party's transceiver is
using Power Save or Scan functions.

6.2.3 First Digit Delay

First Digit Delay is the delay before the transceiver
transmits the first digit of the DTMF Code when it
automatically transmits DTMF Tones.
The transceiver automatically transmits DTMF using
"PTT ID", "Auto Dial", "Store& Send" and "Redial".
This function ensures the reception of the DTMF
Tone.

6.2.4 No. of DTMF Keys

This function allows you to select whether or not to
use the [A], [B], [C] and [D] keys of the Keypad
Microphone (KMC-32).
19
You can select 12 keys ([A], [B], [C], and [D] are not
available) or 16 keys ([A], [B], [C], and [D] are
available).
You can use 12 keys when accessing a telephone
line using the transceiver.
You must select 16 keys when making an individual
call using the DTMF Decode function.

6.2.5 * and # Tone

This function allows you to set the extension time of
the "*" and "#" tones.
"Extension time" is the length of time that is extended
from the original length of the DTMF speed.
Gap Time
(Mute time)
The transceiver automatically transmits DTMF using
83.3 ms
the programmed extension time.
62.5 ms
"*" or "#" Tones are used for special functions.
50.0 ms
When the first digit is "*" or "#", the transceiver
33.3 ms
transmits the first digit using the longer extension
time of "First Digit" and "* and # Digits".

6.2.5.1 D Key Assignment

The transceiver inserts pauses between codes when
transmitting DTMF.
The transceiver automatically transmits DTMF using
"PTT ID", "Auto Dial", "Store&Send" and "Redial".
The transceiver transmits "DTMF Code D" when the
"D Code" is programmed.
Example
When selecting 1 second for the D Key
Assignment and the Autodial Memory is
"123D456":
1-2-3-(Pause for one second)-4-5-6
Example
When selecting the "D Code" for the D Key
Assignment and the Autodial Memory is
"123D456":
1-2-3-D-4-5-6
