Extension Cords
Use an extension cord specifically
approved for outdoor applications. Make
sure your electrical cord set is in good
condition. When using an extension
cord, be sure to use one heavy enough
to carry the current your product will
draw. An undersized extension cord
may cause a drop in line voltage
resulting in loss of power and
overheating. The table below shows the
correct size (AWG) to use for your
machine (Cord types SJW or SJTW)
depending on cord length and
nameplate ampere rating. If in doubt,
use the next heavier gauge. The smaller
the gauge number, the heavier the cord.

WARNING
If your extension cord is stored on a reel,
always unwind it completely before use.
A coiled extension cord can retard the
flow of electricity and cause overheating,
which can lead to a short circuit or fire.
The reel should be equipped with
thermal protection.
