❑ After allowing the C/A to completely cure, gently pull on the elevator and rudder to check the integrity of the hinges. The hinges
should hold securely. If one or more hinges is loose, apply more C/A to the hinge(s).

❑ # 1 Phillips Head Screwdriver
❑ Wire Cutters

❑ Cut two hinge slots in the leading edge of the rudder, equally spaced
between the top and bottom, then slide the hinges into place, using the same
techniques that you did to install the hinges in the elevator.
IMPORTANT As with the elevator, make sure to cut the hinge slots on
the centerline of the leading edge.
❑ Cut the corresponding hinge slots in the back of the fuselage, then hinge
the rudder to the fuselage, using the same techniques that you used to hinge
the elevator to the stabilizer.

❑ (2) Heat-Shrink Tubing
you'll neeD the FolloWing tools AnD supplies:
❑ Modeling Knife
❑ Electric or Hand Drill with 1/16" (1.6mm) Drill Bit
❑ Heat Gun
❑ Install the elevator and rudder servos into the servo tray, making sure to
drill 1/16" (1.6mm) diameter pilot holes for the mounting screws.
IMPORTANT Install the servos so that the output shafts are toward the
back of the fuselage.
Depending on the size of your servos, you may need to enlarge the
servo mounting holes.
❑ Cut away all but one arm from a servo horn, then attach one pushrod into
the outermost hole in the servo arm.
