shot of steam

30 Steam is only available from the COTTON • • • setting upwards. At
lower temperatures, you'll only get water spotting, so the steam
function is blocked.
31 The S symbol will show on the display if steam is available.
32 Check that there's water in the reservoir.
33 Lift the iron off the fabric
34 Squeeze the trigger.
35 You may initially have to squeeze 2 or 3 times to pump water through the system.
36 Leave 4 seconds between shots, to let the temperature build up.

dry ironing

37 You can dry iron at the SILK • or WOOL • • settings, because the steam function is
blocked at these settings. If you want to iron at COTTON • • • or higher, then you
must empty the reservoir first, to avoid spontaneous bursts of steam.
38 Unplug the iron.
39 Hold it over a sink or basin and flip the water inlet cover open.
caution
the water may be hot.
40 Carefully, turn the iron upside down, and empty the water into
the sink/basin.
41 Wipe any spillage off the iron before use.
42 Set the steam control to S, switch on, wait till TEMP OK appears, then start ironing.

vertical steaming

43 Remove wrinkles from hanging clothes, hanging curtains, and furnishing fabrics.
44 Check that there's adequate ventilation behind the fabric, otherwise moisture may
build up, causing mildew.
45 Check that there's nothing behind the fabric that may be damaged by the steam.
46 Check that pockets, turn-ups, and cuffs are empty.
47 Check that there's water in the reservoir.
48 Increase the temperature setting to MAX.
49 Set the steam control to S.
50 Hold the iron close to (but not touching) the fabric.
51 Squeeze the trigger (you're using the "shot of steam" function
vertically).
52 You may have to squeeze 2 or 3 times to pump water through the system.
53 Leave 4 seconds between shots, to let the temperature build up.

after use

54 Unplug the iron.
55 Hold it over a sink or basin.
56 Flip the water inlet cover open.
caution
the water may be hot.
57 Carefully, turn the iron upside down, and empty the water into the sink/basin.
58 Sit the iron on its heel, and leave it to cool down completely.
