self clean

61 To prevent scale building up, use the self clean function regularly, at least monthly
in normal water areas, more often in hard water areas.
62 You'll need a basin or a large bowl to catch the water coming out of the soleplate.
63 Fill the reservoir to the max mark.
64 Sit the iron on its heel.
65 Set the steam control at S.
66 Put the plug into the power socket.
67 Increase the temperature setting to MAX.
68 Wait till TEMP OK appears at the top of the display.
69 Now hold the iron over the basin or bowl, with the soleplate down.
70 Move the steam control from S past S, right across to "self clean",
and hold it there.
71 Gently move the iron to and fro, over the basin or bowl.
caution
keep clear of the escaping water and steam
72 Water and steam will wash scale and dust through the soleplate,
and into the sink.
73 When the reservoir is empty, move the steam control back to S.
74 Unplug the iron, and sit it on its heel to cool.
75 When it's cold, wipe off any moisture, and wind the cable round the heel.
76 Store the iron on its heel, to avoid corrosion and damage to the soleplate.
anti-scale
77 The anti-scale agent incorporated in the iron helps prevent the build-up of scale.
78 Don't use a descaling solution, or you'll destroy the anti-scale agent.
cleaning
79 Unplug the iron when not in use, before moving and before cleaning. Let it cool
down fully before cleaning and storing away.
80 Wipe outer surfaces with a damp cloth. If necessary, use a little washing-up liquid.
81 Remove spots from the soleplate with a little vinegar.
82 Take care not to scratch the soleplate.
83 Don't put the iron in water or any other liquid.
84 Don't use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents or solvents.
