ADJUSTMENTS

8.1 MARQUIS: ALIGNING THE FRONT ROLLS _______________________________
Adjust the front roll as follows.
1. Loosen the nut on the front roll carriage. Left side
for the 61 cm (24 inch) machine.Right side for the
51cm (20in) machine.
2. Put a straight edge between the front and rear
rolls. Check the measurement between the bot-
tom blade cutting edge and the straight edge at
both sides of the machine.
3. The measurement between the bottom blade and
the straight edge must be the same on both
sides.
4. Tighten the nut.
8.2 51 MARQUIS: HEIGHT OF CUT SETTING ________________________________
The height of cut is measured by the position of the front
rolls in relation to the bottom blade. To set the height of
cut, adjust the front roll to a range of cut between 6 mm
and 27 mm.
The height of cut bar [A] is for accurately setting the height
of cut. The bolt in the height of cut bar is put on the lip of
the bottom blade. The bar is put against both the front [C]
and the rear [B] rolls.
The measured height of cut is set by the distance from the
bottom of the bolt head, to the surface of the setting bar.
Use the bar to set the height of cut. To check the height of cut is set, make sure that the bolt head is a positive fit
on the bottom blade. The bolt must make a good contact with the bottom blade, only light force is needed. Adjust
the front roll as required.
Repeat this procedure on each side of the machine, to
make sure the landroll is parallel to the front roll.
Pull the pin [D] and replace in one of the other three holes
(coarse adjustment).
Move the pin toward the front of the machine to increase
the height of cut. Move the pin toward the rear to lower the
height of cut.
Fine adjustment is reached with the screw [D].
