Using the timer

Setting the clock

Setting the clock allows you to use the timer.

Press the TIMER /CLOCK button.
The current time and date are displayed.
The first time you use the clock, you are taken to the
Timer Setup screen. Make sure that 'Clock Adjust' is
selected, then press \ and skip to Step 4.

The Timer Setup screen is displayed.

• After setting the clock, press TIMER /CLOCK once to
check the current time.

Setting the wake-up timer

Use the wake-up timer to set the system to switch on at
any time and start playing whatever source you want.
Important
• The clock must be set to the correct time for the
wake-up timer to work properly (see Setting the clock
above).

Select the source you want played.
Press INPUT to switch between CD, TUNER, XM
Satellite Radio, SIRIUS and LINE sources
For example, press TUNER to select the radio as your
source.

Prepare the source and set the volume.
For example, tune in the radio station you want to wake
up to. Adjust the volume as necessary.

Press TIMER /CLOCK twice, use the
select 'Wake-up' then press ENTER .
Note
1 • You'll need to set the clock again if you unplug the unit (or in case of a power failure).
• The default setting is 12-hour format. See Changing the clock's display mode on page 35 to change it.
2 The station received when XM Satellite Radio and SIRIUS is set will not be the one selected when setting the timer, but the last one previously received.
3 You cannot make Sleep Auto settings during repeat playback of a SACD/CD.

day will be skipped).

Press ENTER until you reach the end and see OK? ,
and then press ENTER to confirm.
The TIMER indicator light, and the settings are confirmed
in the display.

Switch the system into standby mode.
• You can check the timer settings in standby by
pressing TIMER /CLOCK .

Turning the wake-up timer on/off

If you have already set the wake-up timer, you can switch
it on/off by selecting Timer Edit or Timer Off in step 4
above (press ENTER).

Setting the sleep timer

The sleep timer switches off the system after a specified
time so you can fall asleep without worrying about it.
Important
• You cannot use the Sleep Timer function when a
Wake-Up Timer is on.
Press SLEEP repeatedly to select a switch-off time.
Choose between 5 min, 15 min, 30 min, 60 min, 90 min,
