    3.0 Mounting Methods is designed for indoor installation. The camera can be mounted to a flat surface such as a wall The 7420 or ceiling. A short CAT5 pigtail is pre-installed through the back of the dome base for cable routing through the mounting surface. Use appropriate bolts for the ceiling/wall materials to secure the camera. Each site will have its own unique requirements.

    3.1.2 Prepare the Camera for Installation • Detach the dome top from the dome base by removing the four Allen screws with the provided 3mm Allen wrench. Keep the rubber gasket with the dome top. CAUTION: The electronics package is sensitive to damage from electrostatic discharge. Do not touch any of the circuit boards or electronic components in the electronics module.

    NOTE: Use the MAC Address to identify Cohu cameras. “00-09-f2” identifies cameras as Cohu cameras. 4.5 Checkout Procedure When the power is applied to the Camera the initialization process begins. All Cohu Cameras initialize on power-up using stored default parameters within the camera’s non-volatile memory. The default IP address assigned to the Cameras at the factory is 192.168.2.150. For information on accessing the Camera using the Helios Web Interface see section 5.2.

    5.0 Operation NOTE: Manual snapshots for 7410HD and 7420HD camera systems are interchangeable unless otherwise indicated. 5.1 Assigning the Static IP Address IMPORTANT: In order to make changes in network settings and install ActiveX® controls in the local ma- chine the user should be logged in as administrator. Please contact your local IT department if you do not have Admin privileges.
  • Page 17 3. You will see the “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) dialog box. In the “General” tab the “Use the following IP address” button should be selected. Enter IP address: the IP address range is 192.168.2.1 through 192.168.2.254 except the IP address that already is used by the Camera. The subnet mask should be 255.255.0.0.

    The Camera will attempt to install an ActiveX control on your PC. Allow the Camera to install Ac- tiveX Control by clicking on the prompt “This website wants to install the following add-on: ‘Cohu- RTPControl.cab” from ‘Cohu Inc’.” Click “Install this Add-on” from the submenu.

IMPORTANT: Upon delivery, the first time you access the camera you are logged in as an Administrator and have unrestricted access to the Camera’s configuration and operation. All authentications are turned off and administrator rights are granted to anyone accessing the camera without need to log in. For se- curity reasons, it is recommended that authentication be established.

    5.3 Helios Web Interface Home Page Overview The main window provides information about the user type, name of the Camera, software revision and access to configuration/control functions. Control area: 1. The current user level logged into the Camera. See sections 5.4.1.6 and 5.4.2. 2.

    5.3.1 Video Control Area Changing the Video Display The video display can be expanded to the full screen by clicking the F11 key on the keyboard. To exit from full screen display, press F11 again. To close the control area, move the mouse pointer over video viewing area and double click the right mouse button.

    5.4.1.1 Communications The user must be logged in as Admin in order to make changes in the Communications tab. • Click the Camera Setup button • Click the Configuration button • Click the Communications tab The Communications tab is used for performing network configuration of the Camera. Changes to this tab can only be made by the “Admin” account. Care should be taken when modifying parameters on this page as the changes might make the Camera inaccessible through the network.

OSD Setup - allows user to enter a description of the Camera location, using up to 24 characters.

    Administrator (Admin): user has access to all Camera settings and functions, can change network and user configuration, and download firmware upgrades. NOTE: The user name is displayed above Cohu logo on the Helios Web Interface Home Page. See Section 5.3. The following authentication options are available: 1.

    5.4.2 Change Password • Click the Camera Setup button • Click the Change Password button The Change Password page serves a number of different users depending on the method of arriv- ing on it and user authentication status. The main functions of the page are: Help, Login, Logout, and password change.

The Camera Properties menu allows user to configure the Camera settings. • Click the Camera Setup button • Click the Camera Properties button 5.4.3.1 Settings Tab Imaging Settings: Image appearance can be adjusted in the range of 0-100 by moving Bright- ness, Sharpness, Contrast, Saturation, and Hue sliders left or right.

    5.4.3.2 Functions Tab Exposure Auto - Check the Auto box to bring the camera into Auto Exposure mode. The camera gain and shutter speed is controlled automatically by the camera based on the scene illumination when in the Auto Exposure mode.
  • Page 32 Day/Night Mode Determines if the image is color or monochrome and whether infrared light wavelengths are used in produc- ing an image. Day mode - The camera produces a color image and uses an IR cut filter to prevent infrared illumination from reaching the image sensor. NOTE: The camera stays in the Day mode regardless of the scene illumination level. NOTE: The camera stays in the Night mode regardless of the scene illumination level.

    5.4.4.1 Firmware Upgrade • Click the Browse button in the Camera firmware section and find the previously saved new firm- ware upgrade file. • Click the Start Upgrade button. CAUTION: Make sure to install the correct file of the firmware dur- ing the upgrade process. CAUTION: The upgrade process takes approximately 5 minutes.     5.5 Current Stream The Current Stream control selection is available to User, Priv, and Admin users. The Current Stream button allows user to choose between two streams if the Camera is configured for two streams in the video format tab in the con- figuration window. Select one of two streams to adjust the video stream. 5.6 Zoom Magnification The Zoom Magnification control selection is available to User, Priv, and Admin users.

    5.7 Playing Back Recorded Video This control is available to all users. The recording section is used to find and play back recorded video. NOTE: Before starting play back of recorded video, turn off the live vid- eo stream by clicking the Stop button. “Nothing is loaded” sign should be displayed in the video area. A new button (Playback Video Recording) will be displayed in the video slider area.
