1. Insert the boot diskette into drive A and boot your system. You will see the
following message:
SCO OpenServer™ Release 5.04
Boot:
Type:
defbootstr link=mdac Srom=alad(1,0,5,0)
Sdsk=mdac(0,0,0,1)
Press ENTER.
2. The system displays this message:
Please insert the fd(60) mdac volume and press ENTER or press Q to
quit.
Insert the supplemental NEC SecuRAID 530 (Mylex AcceleRAID 1100)
(mdac) driver diskette from the v2.10 software kit into the floppy drive and
press ENTER.
3. The system continues with these messages:
Driver <mdac> apparently should be replaced with the new driver
"mdac". Replacing a driver may result in a kernel which does not work.
Please enter:
"r" if you wish to try replacement
"a" if you want to use character major 6; which character major
number (0-100) to use ("?" to list)
"q" to quit
Type:
r
Press ENTER
4. The system displays the message:
Insert the boot disk and press <Return>
Insert the SCO 5.04 install boot diskette into the floppy disk drive and press
ENTER.
5. The system displays the message:
Please insert (mdac) package BTLD disk into the floppy drive so it can
be extracted onto the hard disk for incorporation into the disk link-kit.
Reinsert the supplemental NEC SecuRAID 530 (Mylex AcceleRAID 1100)
(mdac) driver diskette into your floppy drive and press ENTER.
6. The system displays standard SCO OpenServer Rel. 5.04 copyright
messages such as
