Fuel filter, replacement.
3.0 models
Engine 3.0 has a ceramic fuel filter (A) located in the
fuel pump.
WARNING! Accumulation of water and other fuel
contaminations may form corrosive compounds
that can damage the fuel filter bowl, and result in
fuel leakage. Annually clean and inspect the fuel
filter bowl. If there are any signs of deterioation,
replacement is required to avoid risk of explosion
or fire.
Loosen yoke screw and remove filter bowl, spring
and ceramic filter (A). Remove bowl gasket (B) and
discard.
Wash bowl and ceramoc filter thoroughly with clean
solvent and blow dry.
Inspect filter bowl. Replace if there are any signs of
corrosion or deterioration.
Reassemble using a new gasket (B). Tighten filter
bowl screw securely.
Clean up any spilled fuel. Start the engine and
check for leakage.
Fuel filter. Replacement
4.3, 5.0 and 5.7 models
All models have a fuel filter (C) in the fuel line before
the fuel pump.
IMPORTANT! Volvo Penta EFI engines require a
special marine filter with a 5-10 micron filtering
capability. Do not substitute any other type of fil-
ter.
WARNING! Accumulation of water and other fuel
contaminants may form corrosive compounds
that can damage the fuel filter, and result in fuel
leakage. For this reason, annual replacement of
the fuel filter is required to avoid risk of explosion
or fire.
Unscrew fuel filter; remove and discard.
WARNING! Old filter contains flammable fuel.
Dispose of safely.
Lightly lubricate the gasket and inner seal on
new fuel filter.
Screw on fuel filter and hand tighten, following
instructions on filter.
