HINT: Before assembling new discs, soak them in ATF
for at least fifteen minutes.

- Component Parts (Differential Assembly-A540E, A540H)
Coat the four O-rings with ATF.
Install the four O-rings to the reaction sleeve and
pistons.
Install the No. 1 (A), No. 2 (B) pistons and reac-
tion sleeve (C) to the ring gear mounting right
case.
Place the spring on the piston.
Place SST on the spring retainer, and compress
the spring with a press.

Using snap ring pliers, install the snap ring.
Install the plate and discs.
Install in order: P = Plate D = Disc
Install the flange with the flat end facing downward.
