STARTING

Verifications when the engine is OFF
check that the top cowling is properly locked.
Make sure that the lock plate is installed on the engine kill
switch.

Starting procedures

THE MOTOR IS EQUIPPED WITH A STARTING DEVICE
EASY START WHICH FACILITATES THE STARTING.
To start the engine operate according to the following steps:
If your engine is cold, you have to pull the choke knob.
Place the throttle-grip in the "start" position.
Pull the starter-handle slowly for 2 or 3
sufficiently charged it is unblocked authomatically and the engine starts.
Set the choke knob to home position.
You don't need to use the choke-knob, if the engine is warm.
If the motor doesn't start after several attempts, you should refer
to the troubleshooting section.

Verifications when the motor is ON.

This motor is cooled with mixed air/water system. When
starting, with motor at idle the cooling is only by air and there
is no water circulation. By accelerating, when the graft of the
clutch that transmits the motion to the propelleris ingaged,
also the water cooling enters into action and, only with the
propeller in motion, in the back area of the motor the pilot
flow of the cooling circuit must be present.
Just after starting the motor, you should make sure :
- that you do not hear any strange noise;
- that the throttle-grip operates in a proper way;
- that the engine stop switch operates properly;

USE OF THE MOTOR

Your motor is equipped with a centrifugal clutch device
which engages automatically when a proper r.p.m.
is reached.
This system alows
both during starting and with motor at idle.
By accelerating the
