Placing a Document on the Flatbed
(Platen Glass)

Carefully open the feeder.
Never place any object other than documents to be scanned onto
the platen glass. Doing so may result in damage to the scanner or
an injury.

Place the document face down and align the top edge of the
document with the back edge of the platen glass (by the
alignment mark in the top left corner).

Carefully close the feeder.
 Close the feeder gently to avoid catching your fingers, as this
may result in personal injury.
 Do not use excessive force when closing the feeder, as this may
damage or break the platen glass, and may result in personal
injury.
 Do not press down hard on the feeder when using the platen
glass to scan thick books. Doing so may damage the platen
glass and result in personal injury.
