set configuration

This is where you tell the system which of your speakers can reproduce deep
bass, and how you would like to distribute sound among your speakers.

BASS LEVEL MANAGER
set configuration : informs the system about important characteris-
tics of the speakers being used
: to time align the different speakers, correcting for
set distance
their various distances from the listening position (so sounds that
are supposed to reach the listener at the same time actually do)
: to adjust the loudness of the speakers relative to each
set levels
other to correct for differences in sensitivity, placement, etc.
: provides a convenient way to limit the
bass level manager
amount of deep bass that might otherwise be sent to your speak-
ers at high volumes (discrete digital soundtracks can sometimes be
quite extreme in their deep bass requirements)
