About Printer Initialization

When you turn the 8500 printer on, it initializes (starts up and performs
a self-check) in a few seconds. During this time, the POWER, MEDIA,
and PARALLEL and USB lights blink.
If the 8500 Printer Does Not Initialize
If the 8500 printer fails to initialize, no light illuminates on the display
panel. Turn the 8500 printer off and then back on.
If a light still does not illuminate, turn off both the 8500 printer and the
computer. Disconnect all cables from the 8500 printer except the power
cable. Turn on the 8500 printer. If no light illuminates, call for service.
