1. Switch on the ignition, see page 45.
2. Lightly push button 1 in the turn indicator
lever up or down repeatedly until the sym-
bol and the word "SET" are displayed.
3. Press button 2.
4. Lightly push button 1 in the turn indicator
lever down repeatedly until the desired
symbol is displayed.
> Confirmation signal when the vehicle
is unlocked
> Confirmation signal when the vehicle
is locked
5. Press button 2.
6. Press button 1 to select:

The hazard warning flashers come on
while the vehicle is being unlocked/
locked.
>
The function is deactivated.
7. Press button 2.
The setting is saved.

Malfunctions
The remote control may malfunction as a result
of interference from local radio signals. If this
occurs, unlock and lock the car at the door lock
with the integrated key.
If the car can no longer be locked with a remote
control, the battery in the remote control is flat.
Use this remote control for a longer journey so
that the battery is recharged, see page 16. The

Opening and closing:
Via the door lock
You can set the way in which the car is
unlocked, see page 17.
Do not lock the car from the outside when
there is someone inside it, as it cannot
then be unlocked from the inside in some
national-market versions.<
In some national-market versions, the

alarm system is triggered when the car
is unlocked via the door lock.
To switch off the alarm:
Unlock the car with the remote control, see
page 17, or insert the remote control fully into
the ignition lock.<
