are using. You may need the following information
when installing a communications software
package.

Type of Modem

Most communications software programs will ask
you to select the type of modem you are using.
Select a 3Com U.S. Robotics high speed modem. If
that selection is not listed, pick Courier Dual
Standard, V.32bis, or V.34.

Initialization String

For hardware flow control, a fixed serial port rate,
and full result codes and the PMM answer machine
feature disabled (PWR/MEM LED=red), type:
AT&F1+MCA=0 and then press ENTER.
If you must use software flow control, type:
AT&F2+MCA=0 and then press ENTER.
Software Installation

Flow Control

For hardware flow control (highly
recommended), select RTS/CTS.
For software flow control, select XON/XOFF.
Disable the type of flow control (hardware or software)
that you are not using.
Upon exit of the non-supplied software, execute the
supplied application software to re-initialise all the
answer machine functionality if required.
UART - Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter
(External Modems Only)
If you are running Windows 3.x or you have
upgraded your system from Windows 3.x to
Windows 95, you can run MSD to determine your
UART setting. In DOS, type MSD at the Windows
directory and then press ENTER.
