Engine Oil Specifi cation
1. Only use the engine oil specifi ed in Figure 52.

2. Only use 4-stroke/cycle engine oil. NEVER USE
2-STROKE/CYCLE OIL.

Checking Engine Oil

NOTICE
Always maintain proper engine oil level. Failure to
maintain proper engine oil level could result in severe
damage to the engine and/or shorten the life of the
engine.
Always use the specifi ed engine oil. Failure to use the
specifi ed engine oil can cause accelerated wear
and/or shorten the life of the engine.
Engine oil level should be checked before every use.
1. Always operate or maintain the pressure washer on
a fl at surface.
2. Stop engine if running.
3. Let engine sit and cool for several minutes (allow
crankcase pressure to equalize).
4. With a damp rag, clean around the oil fi ll
plug/dipstick.
5. Remove the oil fi ll plug/dipstick (see Figure 53).

6. Check oil level:
When checking the engine oil, remove the oil fi ll
plug/dipstick and wipe it clean. Thread the oil fi ll
plug/dipstick all the way back in and then remove
and check the oil level on the oil fi ll plug/dipstick.
 Acceptable Oil Level – Oil is visible on the
crosshatch lines on the oil fi ll plug/dipstick (see
Figure 54).
 Low Oil – Oil is not visible on the crosshatch lines
on the oil fi ll plug/dipstick (see Figure 54).
