6. Place a clean rag over the opening created by the
removal of the spark plug to make sure no dirt can
get into the combustion chamber.
7. Inspect the spark plug for:
 Cracked or chipped insulator
 Excessive wear
 Spark plug gap (the acceptable limit of 0.024 –
0.032 in. [0.60 – 0.80 mm]) (see Figure 67).
If the spark plug fails any one of the conditions
listed above, replace the plug with a Champion
RN11YC4 plug or equivalent.

NOTICE
Only use the recommended spark plug (Champion
RN11YC4 or equivalent). Using a non-recommended
spark plug could result in damage to the engine.

8. Install the spark plug by carefully following the steps
outlined below:
a -
Carefully insert the spark plug back into the
cylinder head. Hand-thread the spark plug until
it bottoms out.
b -
Turn the spark plug to ensure it is fully seated.
c -
Replace the spark plug boot, making sure the
boot fully engages the spark plug's tip.

Water Filter Screen

1. Remove the water inlet hose.
2. Remove the cone-shaped water fi lter screen from
the water inlet hose fi tting

3. Inspect the water fi lter screen for debris or damage.
4. If the water fi lter screen is clogged or full of debris,
clean it by fl ushing it with water on both sides. If it is
damaged, replace it.
