How the Cat Sensor Works

The Litter-Robot Cat Sensor is a weight sensitive switch
that detects your cat entering or exiting the Globe.
Your cat must be at least five (5) lbs for the
sensor to work. Do not use the Litter-Robot with
kittens or cats that weigh less than five lbs.
Always be sure that each cat in your household is
heavy enough to activate the Cat Sensor before
you let the Litter-Robot operate in automatic
mode.
Make sure the Litter-Robot is placed on a level
firm surface. Placing the Litter-Robot on deep
carpet may require adjusting the cat sensor
(more sensitive).
A seven minute count-down is started when the cat
leaves the Globe. At the end of the count-down the
Litter-Robot will start its cleaning cycle. Any subsequent
tripping of the Cat Sensor starts a new seven minute
count-down, preventing the Globe from rotating with
your cat inside.
Caution:
Please make sure that your smallest cat weighs at
least 5 lbs before operating the Litter-Robot in
the unattended automatic mode. Your cat must
weigh at least 5 lbs to trip the Cat Sensor.

Testing the Cat Sensor

1. First, ensure that the Litter-Robot contains the right
amount of litter. Please refer to Fill Line on page 5.
2. Make sure that the green light on the Litter-Robot
Control Panel is on ("OK/Waiting").
3. If the red light is on ("Sensor/Timing"), push any of
the buttons (Cycle, Fill, or Empty). This resets the
unit and the green light should come on
("OK/Waiting"). Next, proceed to Step 4 of this
Testing procedure.
If the red light stays on ("Sensor/Timing"), the Cat
Sensor is too sensitive and needs to be adjusted.
To adjust the sensitivity of the Cat Sensor, see the
next section: "Adjusting the Cat Sensor Sensitivity".
