  • Page 6: Operating Your T240 - T260

    The T240-T260 comes with a magnetic security key. The key’s magnet must be inserted in the appropriate slot in the console for the treadmill to be functional. For security purposes, make sure to attach the key’s clip to your clothes prior to starting an exercise.
  • Page 7 SPEED indicates the treadmill belt speed in miles per hour or kilometers per hour, ranging from 0.50 to 10.00 mph or 0.80 to 16.00 km/h. DISTANCE displays the total distance in miles or kilometers from the start of the exercise, ranging from 0.00 to 99.00 miles or 0.00 to 99.00 km.

    This feature is very useful when a particular exercise is interesting and motivational. With the T240 – T260, you have the ability to create or modify an existing program and save it with the ability to recall it including the heart rate control program.
  • Page 9: Viewing Exercise Parameters

    • AVERAGE SPEED displays the average speed value for the entire exercise. The total exercise parameters on the T240 – T260 will loop for 2 minutes, showing your exercise parameters until you press CLEAR/STOP to exit back to the welcome screen. If you do not wish to view the exercise parameters, press the CLEAR/STOP key to return to the welcome screen.
  • Page 10: Weight Unit Feature

    The User Identification feature allows the treadmill to recognize individuals and automatically enter their weight along with additional information. The T240 will recognize two and the T260 will recognize four. Whenever the User Identification feature is used, the weight will be automatically entered at each exercise program.

    Doing a warm up period before an exercise and a cool down period after an exercise is strongly recommended for your safety. In your T240-T260, you have a feature that will allow you to warm up and cool down on your treadmill.

    The computer will adjust the elevation to keep you in your target heart rate. Note that the default mode is “SPEED AND ELEVATION MODE”. NOTE – The T240 has only one mode and it is speed only. To select the mode you want to choose: Enter into the Settings menu, see Section 2.1.

    From now on, all the information will be displayed on screen as the option you selected. NOTE – The T240 does not allow to choose NONE since it will never display the speed or elevation profiles. 2.13 Learn Program (T260) Bodyguard machines have the incredible ability to learn (pre-program) profiles.

    Each segment time is equal to the selected exercise time divided by 15 segments. Therefore, a 45 minute exercise results in a 3 minute segment time. NOTE – The T240 will never show the speed and elevation profiles since it displays only big numbers. BEFORE SELECTING ANY EXERCISE PROGRAM, FIRST STRADDLE YOUR FEET ON THE FOOT RESTS.

    JustGo ® Program The JustGo ® program allows you to start a manual exercise with the push of one key. Since the JustGo program, it will always be displayed first for easy selection. You have total control of the speed and elevation of the belt at all times during this program.
  • Page 17 Elevation although not usually found on any track can be used on the T240 – T260. To select the Track program : Press the DECREASE key to select TRACK. Press the JustGo Select your weight.
  • Page 18 NOTE – This program can only be used with the optional heart rate chest strap available from your Authorized Bodyguard Dealer. Use of the heart rate chest strap will allow the treadmill belt to change speed along with a change in elevation. To achieve optimal results, it is recommended to place the chest strap directly over the skin.

    During the exercise, the main computer screen will show a speed or elevation profile like the other programs, but will display your ACTUAL heart rate and your TARGET heart rate on the message center. Once the exercise has started, your ACTUAL heart rate should be lower than the TARGET heart rate.

    The NVRAM (Non-Volatile Random Access Memory) test will not erase all stored information such as user identification, and all saved programs. The NVRAM is a computer chip that saves information even when the treadmill has been turned off. 1. In the Diagnostics menu, select the “NVRAM TEST” and accept it by pressing the JustGo 2.
  • Page 24 2. The top left display will show the signal received from the chest strap and the bottom window will show the hand grip signal (option). Attach your heart rate chest strap. You do not need to step on the treadmill for this test, but simply stand near the computer.

    The elevation calibration procedure is automatic and does not require any tools. WARNING – Do not stand on the belt during this procedure. The treadmill will elevate to a maximum of 15% incline (12% for the T240).

    1. In the diagnostics menu , select current test. The motor will start and will reach 2.0 mph (or 3.2 km/h). 2. Walk on the treadmill for a couple of minutes and the value of the current and voltage at the motor will appear on the central information window.

    Here’s a quick check list followed by reference Table 2 : • After each workout, you should wipe down your T240 – T260 using a mild, non-abrasive liquid cleanser applied on a soft cotton cloth. Do not spray cleansers directly on the unit or use an excessively damp cloth. Do not clean the unit with the power ON, be sure that it is OFF.

It is therefore important to maintain each running belt periodically by observing that no cuts have appeared over time, and that the running belt has not shifted to one side of the deck surface.
