Before operating, the outboard must be locked in its tilt position
by moving the lock lever to the lock position.
Operating the engine without engaging the tilt lock lever can
cause serious injury or death. The outboard can tilt upwards
when decelerating or operating in reverse, causing loss of boat
control. Always lock the outboard in its run position before
operating.
BASIC TILTING OPERATION
Move lock lever to the free position. Tilt outboard to desired
position and lock in place by moving the tilt lock lever back to the
lock position.
